Perry’s Previews and Amazing Kids! announce today that Disney Pixar has joined DreamWorks Animation as the second prize sponsor to the first ever “Amazing Kids! Perrific Oscar Picks Contest” that will end Feb 26, the day before the Oscars.  Like DreamWorks which has shipped 20 Blu-ray DVDs of the Oscar-nominated “How to Train Your Dragon,” Disney Pixar will provide 20 Blu-ray DVDs of the studio’s Oscar-nominated “Toy Story 3” for winners of the contest.  Children 6-17 worldwide are invited to predict which Oscar-nominated animation feature (How to Train Your Dragon, Toy Story 3, and The Illusionist) will win Oscar at the Academy Awards ceremony on Feb 27, 2011, with the option of sharing why they pick the film in 50 words or less.

“I am excited to have both Disney Pixar and DreamWorks Animation as our contest sponsors!” said Perry Chen, resident film critic for Amazing Kids! and co-organizer of “Amazing Kids! Perrific Oscar Picks Contest.”  “How to Train Your Dragon and Toy Story 3 are among my favorite movies of 2010.  I want tons of kids around the world to enter our contest and share with us why they pick their film to win Oscar.  I know the contest winners will love watching these films again and again on DVD, they are both instant classics!”

Amazing Kids! Founder/President Alyse Rome commented:  “We’re so delighted to have these well-respected studios join us for our contest.  Their generous donation of copies of these two truly amazing animated movies will make the day of some very lucky amazing kids!  We can’t thank them enough.”

Since the start of the contest on Jan 26, 2010, the organizers have received children’s entries from China, India, Canada, The United Kingdom, in addition to the U.S.  See contest site for details:

Prizes will include DVDs of the best animated feature film of 2010 Oscar® nominees and winner, and will be awarded to contest winners in a random drawing from those entries which correctly predict the Oscar winner. In addition, one grand prize winning “Best Essay” entry will receive copies of all three DVDs.  The winners’ names will be featured on the Amazing Kids! website, with a following of nearly 1 million yearly visitors, and in the Amazing Kids!
