Perry Chen, the youngest film critic and radio talk show host at wsRadio, attended the screening of the award-winning independent film “Like Dandelion Dust” at the San Diego Film Festival opening night on Sep 23, 2009.  He enjoyed the heart-warming film and asked question at the Q&A session, about “the most challenging aspect of making this film.”

John Gunn, the director, said, many aspects of this film were challenging: finding the right actors (Kate Levering who played the adopting mother was cast 36 hrs before shooting! Maxwell Perry Cotton who played the boy, was one of the last two auditioned for the role among 300.), putting the story together, and managing the budget.

Steve Rivele, the screenwriter for the film, commented with a wink, “the most challenging part for me was dealing with critics.”

Perry spoke to the filmmakers after the Q&A and took photos with them. This is his first experience at a major film festival. More info on the festival:
