Perry S. Chen San Diego, CA, United States

Hello. Welcome to the official blog of www.perryspreviews.com. My name is Perry Chen, my Chinese name is 陈彬睿. I am a 10-year-old boy, a 4th grader from San Diego’s Torrey Hills Elementary School. I love reading, science, gardening, basketball, art (drawing, origami, sculpture), and movies!
I am the host of wsRadio’s talk show “Perry Previews the Movies,” (http://www.wsRadio.com/perry)
Annie Awards for Animation presenter, and a columnist/movie critic for family movies for “We Chinese in America” weekly newspaper and a guest columnist for La Jolla Light, Carmel Valley News, Del Mar Times, and Rancho Santa Fe Review. This is where you can read my latest movie reviews, upcoming events, film festival and awards coverage.
I rate movies on a scale of 1 to 5 Starfish, 5 being the best. The movies I review are rated G or PG, suitable for children, adults and the entire family.
I am honored to interview award-winning filmmakers such as Oscar-winning director Pete Docter and producer Jonas Rivera of Pixar’s Up, directors John Musker and Ron Clements of Disney’s The Princess and the Frog, Oscar-winning animation director Bill Plympton, and French animation master Michel Ocelot of “Azur & Asmar.”
I have had an incredible journey since writing movie reviews in November 2008. I have been invited to attend and/or speak at fabulous film festivals, awards, school fund-raiser dinner, conferences, and press junket for major studio releases as the youngest credentialed media.
I am honored to win an award as “Excellent Writer for We Chinese” for my movie reviews in January 2010, and two art awards for my paintings at the San Diego City Hall in October 2009 and San Diego International Art & Music Festival January 2010. It was fun to walk on the red carpet and be interviewed at the Annie Awards and San Diego Asian Film Festival!
I enjoy watching family movies with my parents. They are great for parents who want to watch movies and spend quality time with their kids. I hope a lot of parents will watch many wonderful movies with their children and talk to them about the movies after reading my reviews. I would love to hear your feedback about movies and my reviews.
Thank you for visiting and hope you enjoyed my reviews! Check back often for new reviews, upcoming events, prizes, FREE press screening passes giveaways! Send your comments by posting on my blog, and/or email me: perryspreviews@gmail.com
Hi Perry!
It was good to hear from your Mom on Sunday. I had fun watching you on the news! You’ve grown up so much… I’ll be watching your up dates on your web site. I would love to see your recent artwork sometime. I still have several drawings of your animals that I’ve saved from the art studio when you were three years old. I can’t believe you’re 9yrs!
Take care Perry,
Jeannette Prince
